End of the year project

This is our last glog, we made a summary of everything that we did in this year, like the victorian times, our family pinboard, south trip project, comparing two schools, etc. Well I did this glog with Nicolas.

This is my glog from "My Family Pinboard" we did it individually. With this I learnt that there are different types of families, also that they have names,I always thought they were just family, not like nuclear family or extended family

Coal mining questions

1.- The difference is that surface mining is used when a coal seam is close to the surface and underground mining is used when a coal seam lies deep into the earth.

2.-They use heavy equipmet, like trucks to take topsoil to a special place where it will be saved until mining is finished in this area. Also drills and explosives are place in tho holes to break the overburden.

3.-Tunnels are used for traveling through the mine.

4.-Conveyor belts takes out coal from the mine.

5.-Three different types of underground mining are slope, drift and shaft. In a slope mine a tunnel slants down from the surface to the coal seam. In a drift mine is used when a coal seam lies inside a hill or a mountain. Anda shaft mine are from 125 to 1000 feet deep. Is a large hole or shaft that is drilled down into the ground until they reach the coal seam.

And five words from the glossary.
-Bituminuos: Type of coal used orimarily to generate electricity and mae coke for steel.
-Coke: A hard dry substance containing carbon that is produced by heating bituminous coal to a very hifgh temperature.
-Lignite: Type of coal with lowest carbon content, called "Brown Coal", used mainly for electric power generation.
-Conveyor: A continous moving belt that transprts large volumes of material.
-Longwall mining: Mechanised technique used to scratch coal from a block several feet wide.

-Shakespeare was born in the depths of the night.

-His son, Hamnet died at the age of eleven.
-He wrote "Romeo and Juliet"
-William and his friends built a theatre called "The globe".
